Lab Profile

We are a service oriented laboratory, established to help meet the needs of the agriculture industry in the state of Florida. Therefore, much of our work is currently comprised of identification of bacterial plant pathogens. Several libraries of fatty acid profiles for bacterial plant pathogens have been developed in our lab. We collaborate and work with plant pathologists in Florida as well as in other states. In addition to our plant pathogen diagnostics, we have worked with individuals in a variety of other disciplines including biocontrol, bioremediation, environmental engineering, food science, insect pathology, marine microbiology, microbial ecology, soil science and soil microbiology.

Our clients include university faculty and graduate students, extension clinics, government regulatory agencies, seed companies, growers, and consulting firms.
