Curriculum Vitae

My research interests are in the areas of virus disease of woody plants and of vegetables. They involve studies in the detection and characterization of viruses that cause diseases in these plants; epidemiology of the viruses involved; movement and physiological effects of viruses in plants; genetics of resistance of plants to viruses; control of plant viruses; behavior of viruses in plant tissue culture; and use of tissue culture techniques for studying the manipulation of viruses and their hosts through tissue culture. Also, I have always been interested in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate students in the areas of general plant pathology and of plant virology.
