Curriculum Vitae

My research program involves the molecular biology of plant viruses, particularly those of the potyvirus group. I am interested in the structure, expression, and regulation of viral genomes and the identification and characterization of viral-specified protiens other than the capsid protein. My studies involve the preparation of complementary DNA clones of selected viruses, sequence analyses, development of serological probes for viral proteins, the generation of transgenic plants expressing viral proteins, and the development of infectious viral transcripts for the study of viral gene functions. I teach the course "Plant Virology."
