Our group conducts studies on the biological control of diseases of plants caused by fungi and nematodes, the influences of biotic and abiotic factors on the epidemiology of diseases caused by soilborne fungi, and the effects of plant pathogens on the ecology of native plants. Diseases caused by Phytophthora spp. on tropical crops and plants native to Florida are emphasized in my research program. I coordinate the teaching of the courses "Fungal Plant Pathogens" and "Tropical Plant Pathology".
