My research responsibilities are in the area of turfgrass pathology, focusing on the biology, etiology, epidemiology, and control of turf diseases. Initially, I am focusing on Pythium blight, root rot, and damping-off, and brown patch of turf, caused by Rhizoctonia solani, as well as other root, stem, and leaf pathogens of turf that occur in north Florida. I also work cooperatively with scientists in Environmental Horticulture, Nematology, and other departments and at the Research and Education Centers on management of other turfgrass disease-related problems. I currently teach three courses in Plant Pathology: Diseases of Turf and Ornamentals, Plant Disease Diagnosis, and Fungal Plant Pathogens. I am also the interim director of the Florida Extension Plant Disease Clinic in Gainesville.
