Inclusions of Tomato Spotted Wilt Tospovirus

(Pictures courtesy of W. Dankers and T. Momol)

The most common viral inclusion seen in epidemal strips of plants infected with tomato spotted wilt viurs (TSWV) is a granular inclusion (I) seen in all of the pictures except the one in the lower left. These inclusions stain in both OG andAA. A second more compact inclusion (bottom left) can also be seen. This inclusion type is often found in the guard cells around stomatal openings.
