Plant Disease Clinic

Richard coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Florida Extension Plant Disease Clinic in Gainesville. The primary role of the Plant Disease Clinic is to determine if a plant problem involves an infectious causal agent(s). Typically, parasitic plant diseases are caused by fungi, bacteria, or viruses. Diagnostic results are based on identifying plant pathogens associated with plant disorders and correlating them with know plant disease. Plant disease samples submitted to the clinic generally originate in Florida, unless they are accompanied by the appropriate plant importation permits. Anyone is welcome to submit samples to this clinic for plant disease diagnosis. Please contact the clinic for details or just follow the submission guidelines.
