    • Ph.D. Plant Pathology, University of Florida, Spring 2021
    • M.S. Plant Pathology, Purdue University, August 2017
    • B.A. Biochemistry, Hanover College, May 2014
  • Research

My research focuses on the appearance of novel pathogens on the invasive grass Microstegium vimineuum (Japanese Stiltgrass). In particular, we are interested in the appearance of the fungal pathogen Drechslera gigantea on populations of M. vimineum throughout the Eastern United States. We are interested in the phylogenetics, possibly host shifts, and the effects of this pathogen on competition between native and invasive species.
