About

My general area of interest is plant virology. I work with Dr Amit Levy, assistance professor in Citrus Research and Education Centre. My focus of research is Citrus Tristeza Virus and biology of host-pathogen interaction.

  • Education

PhD student (2019), Department of Plant Pathology, University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida.

MSc in Plant Pathology (2007-2010), Department of Plant Virology, College of Agriculture, Shiraz University, Shiraz, Iran.

BSc in Plant Protection (2002-2006), College of Agriculture, Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran.

  • Research

My area of research during my M.Sc. program dealt with molecular and biological assessment of novel isolates of BYSMV (Barley Yellow Striate Mosaic Virus. I compared the genomes of isolates from three geographical regions and compared transmission efficiency of geographical isolates via Laodelphax striatellus. During my research, I became familiar with molecular biology concepts, and I learnt about laboratory techniques used in genomics such as DNA/RNA/Plasmid Extraction, Amplification and Isolation, Gene Cloning, DNA Sequencing, PCR-Amplify, Quantitative Real Time PCR (qRT-PCR), Two-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis, Western Blot, Cell Culture, Protein Extraction, and ELISA.
