Bacterial causal agent: Xanthomonas spp.

Symptoms: The initial symptom of bacterial leaf spot is the formation of small spots on the top of the leaves. As the disease progress the size of the lesion increases. The leaves turn yellow with orange-red sections on the leaf. The disease is predominantly found in locations with tight spacing of plants. 

Management: Adequate spacing of plants is the key to effective management.
