About
My name is Ciara Chiampou and I am a PhD student in Dr. Jeffrey Rollins’ lab. My interest in plant pathology stems from my curiosity in mycology and fungal impacts in our agricultural world. My research focuses on the fungal pathogenesis and development of the plant pathogen, Harringtonia lauricola.
During my undergraduate experience at UF, I participated in a plant pathology internship under the guidance of Dr. Rollins’. My research focused on understanding physiological and morphological characteristics of the fungal plant pathogen, Harringtonia lauricola.
After completing my Bachelor’s, I worked in the UF Space Plant Lab as a lab manager to perform general lab maintenance, uphold environmental health and safety standards, and to perform space flight preparation operations.
