About

Hello, my name is Josie Pasche, and I am a Plant Pathology MSc student in Dr. Samuel Martins’ lab in Gainesville, FL. I graduated from UF in 2022 with my BSc in Plant Science: Breeding and Genetics and a minor in Entomology and Nematology. I have worked in a few areas including spider behavior research at UF, a sorghum breeding internship with Corteva Agriscience, tomato breeding at UF, and the Plant Diagnostic Center at UF.
I am interested in the rhizosphere, its influence on plant health, and utilizing beneficial bacteria to help plants withstand biotic and abiotic stressors. Some of my broad interests include extension, diagnostics, nematology, biocontrol and the microbiome.
