About
I'm a PhD student advised by Dr. Matt Smith. I'm passionate about forest pathology, fungi, and science communication. I previously received my B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Oklahoma, where I focused on video production and I love to use those skills to advance my research and make informative and engaging science communication videos.

Research
I study fungi, mostly in the context of forest health and tree diseases. Currently, I am working on Raffaelea ambrosia fungi and their symbiosis with Platypodinae ambrosia beetles. Previously, I have published two fungal field guides to assist arborists in the field with tree disease diagnosis and examined the colonization of e-cigarette devices by thermotolerant, plastic-loving yeasts and their affect on lung physiology.
