About
I am a graduate student in Plant Pathology advised by Dr. Shouan Zhang, and working with Dr. Jeff Jones during my time in Gainesville. Halfway through my undergraduate degree, I realized my passion for epidemiology also encompassed plant understanding and pathology. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with an Honors Bachelors in Environmental Science and a Health Sciences minor. I worked for two years as a lead garden assistant conducting research, maintaining hydroponic systems, and teaching fellow students about plant diversity. During my undergraduate degree, I was afforded the opportunity to perform and present research under Dr. Swadeshmukul Santra on zinc nanoparticles' effects on tomato plants. Through this, I realized the best way for me to help people was through research and plant science.
