About
My name is Wenting Wang, and I am a graduate student in Plant Pathology working with Dr. Nian Wang. I am from China, where I received bachelor's degree in Agronomy from Huazhong Agricultural University and master's degree in Plant Pathology in China Agricultural University. I started my PhD in UF/IFAS Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) in 2019. I am interested in the molecular plant-microbe interactions and molecular genetics of plant pathogenic bacteria.

Research
Currently my research mainly focuses on characterizing the virulence mechanisms of the citrus greening bacterium Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas) by using culturable related bacteria as the surrogate. I am also interested in investigating the interactions between the citrus canker bacterium Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc) and citrus by studying functions of several kinase genes.
