About
In 2021, I joined the Forest Heath Genetic Resources Lab under Dr. Jeremy Brawner after completing my Ph.D. in Plant Pathology at the University of Florida. My work has focused on fungal pathogens, studying host-fungus interactions in various pathosystems.

Research
1. Screening slash pine for resistance to the pathogen that causes pitch canker.
2. Developed assembly pipelines to create a much more contiguous pine genome.
3. Creation of a rapid fungal identification platform, the Universal Fungal Identification Tool (UFIT), utilizing targeted nanopore sequencing to sequence genes employed for phylogenetic inference. - Publications
