Redding of the stem nodes and leaves veins is a characteristic symptom of the red node disease. Reddening of the pods is a noticeable symptom.
Infected pods may show pattern of necrotic red patches all around it. The plants may be stunted and pods may become shriveled in appearance.
The infected pods may also shows streaks of reddened sections. Severely affected pods may show symptoms of twisting, shriveling an discoloration.
Defoliation can be noticed on infected plants in the field, the leaves tun yellow with the veins remaining green. Reddened streaks or patterns can be seen over all plants parts.
